Jellyfish
Toronto Zoo
The lighting around these tanks was limited and using the flash would have ruined the Jelly fish glow. Instead I opted for a soft focus shot, which actually worked out quite well for this subject, and later converted to black and white.

TrickyRic: Soft focus is simply a slight blur, usually caused by having the shutter speed slightly slower so the subject has moved a little in the process. In this case, without using a flash for the faster shutter, I didn't really have any choice but to blur it a little. Thankfully, it worked quite well :-).
Jellyfish are transparent, they don't really have a colour as such. The lighting in this tank was causing some odd colours to reflect from them though, I think this shot came out a little off-white.
I have a folder full of shots waiting for me to process and upload. I'm pretty sure I have a couple of newer Jellyfish shots which I may leave in colour.
Lindsay: This is great - what exactly do you mean by "soft focus" (I'm still learning). What color were the jellyfish originally?
